United Airlines unveiled its newest class of service, Polaris Studio, which is larger than its current business class. The new suite will treat passengers to 25 percent more space, and have an ottoman seat with seat belt so that a travel companion can visit for a chat or snack safely. There will also be larger in-flight screens: the 27-inch monitor, which United claims is the largest in-flight screen of any domestic carrier, will have 4K resolution.
The Polaris Studio class will also introduce upgraded amenity kits, special pajamas and slippers, playing cards, headphones, and more.
The VIP service extends on the ground, as passengers can use the Global Services check-in and reception areas, which provides priority baggage check and expedited security lines at select airports. Passengers will also have access to the carrier's Tarmac Transfer program, which offers speedy gate-to-gate transfer by vehicle.
At the time of publication, United has not revealed the pricing of the new Polaris Studio.
The airline expects to bring at least 30 new aircraft, complete with the Polaris Studio, before 2027 in a staggered roll-out. While there's no exact date, the inaugural flight featuring United Polaris Studio suites will take place in 2026 from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Singapore’s Changi Airport (SIN).
The existing Polaris cabin is also slated to get a cosmetic upgrade, with larger screens, a premium natural wood finish, soft ambient lighting, and a snack bar revamp. As for United Premium Plus, the carrier's premium economy cabin, the seats will receive an update that includes a privacy barrier between seats.
