Stretching across more than 130 acres along the banks of the Sims Bayou, the Houston Botanic Garden offers a diverse range of walking trails and horticultural displays. This relatively new attraction, which opened in 2020, repurposes a vast green space that was formerly a golf course. The garden is home to themed sections that showcase everything from tropical plants to prairie grasses. Notably, the Susan Garver Family Discovery Garden encourages hands-on water and nature play through activities like scavenger hunts and a boardwalk maze.

Global Collection Garden

A favorite among past visitors, the Global Collection Garden features a variety of desert plants, including succulents. While many appreciate its unique displays, some visitors feel the garden needs further development before it becomes a "must-see" attraction.

The Houston Botanic Garden is situated less than 10 miles southeast of downtown Houston along Interstate 45. Driving is the most convenient way to reach the garden, ensuring easy access for visitors.
