Experience Lake Tahoe from Above with Lake Tahoe Balloons
When it comes to enjoying Lake Tahoe, nothing beats a clear day up in the sky. Lake Tahoe Balloons offers a unique way to see the lake, as they inflate, launch, and land on the world's only U.S. Coast Guard-certified aircraft carrier for hot air balloons. Yes, you read that right; you will launch from the water. Visitors are often left in awe, rating this experience as one of the top activities that should not be missed.
Location and Timing
Based at the Tahoe Keys Marina in South Lake Tahoe, these balloon flights typically begin just before sunrise, with starting times ranging between 5:30 a.m. and 7 a.m., depending on the season. Generally, two groups of passengers are taken on flights; while one group is airborne, the other group gets to relax on the boat and take in the breathtaking sights. The packages include beverages and refreshments, and there is also an option for arranging private flights. Since it can be cold in the mornings, even during summer, guests are advised to wear layers.
Passenger Reviews
Recent guests have described their balloon rides as "amazing" and "well worth the price," praising the scenery and the attentive service provided by the experienced pilots. One guest, however, was disappointed when their booking was canceled due to unsafe weather conditions. To check if your flight is canceled due to weather, the company advises calling their phone number and listening to the voicemail, which will inform guests about the status of their trip.
