History of the Grand Ole Opry

The Grand Ole Opry began as a radio show in 1925, putting Nashville on the map as the "Country Music Capital of the World." Throughout the years, the Grand Ole Opry has been hosted in several venues, including the Ryman Auditorium. It consistently featured country legends such as Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton, as well as modern favorites like Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban.

Tours of the Grand Ole Opry House

A trip to Nashville isn't complete without a tour of the Grand Ole Opry House. You can choose between a daytime backstage tour or a post-show tour. During a daytime tour, guides share stories of music legends who have walked the venue's hallowed halls, display photos from the Opry's celebrated history, and might even bring you on stage. A post-show tour provides a glimpse of the unique dressing rooms and a visit to Studio A, where "Hee Haw" was filmed. Additionally, the Grand Ole Opry is a highlight on many of the city's top tours.

Treasure Trove of Facts

The knowledgeable tour guides at the Grand Ole Opry add to the experience with fun facts about the institution. If possible, try to get tickets to a show. Attending a performance here is an experience you shouldn't miss.
