Legoland California Overview
Legoland California offers much more than just the company's iconic plastic building blocks. It features one of the top theme parks in California, with over 60 rides and a 10-acre water park that includes several slides. The park also has an interactive aquarium housing more than 6,000 animals. Visitors can enjoy Lego-related live shows, 4D movies, and explore MINILAND USA, which showcases miniature replicas of major cities like San Francisco, Las Vegas, New York City, and Washington, D.C., all made from millions of Lego bricks. Additionally, there is a replica of San Diego featuring Lego versions of the city's famous landmarks.
Amenities
If this seems like too much to experience in one day, guests can book one of the resort's hotel rooms, which are decorated with themes inspired by Lego product lines. Each room includes a separate sleeping area for kids. The park itself offers several dining options, including restaurants serving kid-friendly foods like burgers and pizza, as well as a barbecue eatery that caters to adults with its craft beer menu.
Hours
Legoland California, located in Carlsbad, is roughly 35 miles north of downtown San Diego. The park opens daily at 10 or 10:30 a.m. and remains open until 8 p.m. during the summer months. In other months, it generally closes at 5 p.m. on weekdays and at either 6 or 8 p.m. on weekends, depending on the month. The operating hours for the water park and aquarium might differ from those of the main theme park.
Tickets and Reservations
One-day passes start at $90 per person, but can reach up to $130 during peak times. Tickets that include entry to both Legoland and its aquarium begin at $99. Additionally, there are packages that combine hotel stays with admission tickets. Keep in mind that reservations must be made in advance and the resort operates on a strictly cashless basis.
