Find your Zen by the ocean at Leadbetter Beach. Some yoga studios set up outdoor seasonal classes here thanks to the flat and even terrain.
Beach Location and Activities
This expansive beach covers 17 acres adjacent to the Santa Barbara Harbor. It’s a favorite among locals and tourists alike due to its prime location next to Shoreline Park. The park features grills and picnic tables on a grassy lawn, enhancing the beach-going experience. Visitors often come here to engage in activities such as surfing, sunbathing, swimming, boogie boarding, and paddle boarding.
Dining Options
If you didn't pack a picnic, Shoreline Café is a convenient option. Established in 1997, this café is located right on Leadbetter Beach and offers beach favorites for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Menu items include calamari, fish and chips, tacos, and chowder. You can enjoy your meal either on a covered patio or with your toes in the sand.
Amenities and Parking
Leadbetter Beach is equipped with public restrooms, outdoor showers, and paid parking adjacent to the grassy area. While there are a few spots offering 90-minute free parking, most of the parking is paid at $3.50 per hour. Residents appreciate the beach’s unique location and mild waves, making it an excellent spot for beginner surfers.
