Overview of City Museum
Downtown's City Museum is difficult to define, but perhaps we can best describe it using its own words: "a mixture of children’s playground, funhouse, surrealistic pavilion, and architectural marvel made out of found and repurposed objects." Spread across 10 stories and 600,000 square feet, the museum is constantly evolving, so there is no official map. Visitors can explore various exhibitions and attractions, including several slides, caves, mazes, and chutes.
Visitor Experience
Recent visitors have noted that City Museum is particularly appealing to older children and young adults. Parents of younger kids, however, cautioned that the museum can be chaotic for the little ones due to the vast number of mazes where children might easily get lost. Despite this, most visitors agreed that the concept of the museum is both cool and interesting. Several reviewers also mentioned that it can get warm inside the building during the summer months.
Location and Accessibility
City Museum is situated in downtown St. Louis. Several bus routes have stops nearby, and the Union, Civic Center, and Convention Center MetroLink stations are all within walking distance.
