Discover Pennsylvania German Agricultural Heritage
Introduction to Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm
Experience Pennsylvania German agricultural heritage at Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm, a picturesque museum that was formerly a functioning farm. The property includes historically significant buildings such as a farmhouse, a cabin, a bank barn, and a smokehouse. Tour guides, dressed in period-appropriate attire, immerse visitors in the life of a 19th-century Pennsylvania German family by demonstrating traditional farm tasks including hearth cooking and animal husbandry.
Special Events and Seasonal Activities
Quiet Valley offers a range of special events that make each visit unique. These events include an ice cream social, a rye straw craft fair, and a reenactment of a Civil War encampment. Although Quiet Valley is dedicated exclusively to student field trips during the school year, it opens to the public for a variety of seasonal festivities such as a Harvest Festival and an Old Time Christmas.
