Family-Friendly Hike with Stunning Views

For an easy, family-friendly hike with beautiful views, head to Bridalveil Fall. Located near Yosemite Valley, it may be the first waterfall you see in the park. You'll only have to walk half a mile to the majestic waterfall, which towers at 620 feet. If you visit in the spring or early summer, the spray is at its strongest due to the snowmelt, so you can expect to feel the mist as you watch the falls.

Tips from Past Visitors

Several past visitors mentioned the importance of wearing sturdy shoes with traction to help traverse the slippery rocks. Additionally, many advised wearing a poncho to keep dry. Even in the winter, visitors say Bridalveil Fall is an impressive sight.

Getting There

Located about 6 miles from Yosemite Valley, this area is not serviced by the free Yosemite shuttle. To reach the falls, take Highway 41 (Wawona Road) from Yosemite Valley, which leads to the park's south exit. This trail and waterfall are open year-round. The trail is paved, though not accessible due to its grade. There is a parking lot at the trailhead as well as restrooms (no potable water). If you don't have time to walk to the falls, you'll still be able to see it as you drive.

Entrance Fee and Additional Information
