Corpus Christi Beaches

The main reason to head to Corpus Christi is its plentiful beaches. While you'll find many pristine sands along the Padre Island National Seashore and Mustang Island, there are also several beaches closer to town along the Corpus Christi Bay.

North Beach

North Beach is located approximately 1 mile north of both the Texas State Aquarium and the USS Lexington. It offers 1 ½ miles of sandy shores, a concrete boardwalk, and three different places for restrooms and showers. Additionally, you'll find Dolphin Park, which features a playground, at the far north end, as well as hotels and restaurants alongside the beach.

Past travelers favored North Beach for its proximity to the city and mentioned that it can be a good spot for kids. However, others noted that for a quieter and more scenic experience, it's better to head to one of the island beaches.

McGee Beach

McGee Beach is located along the Corpus Christi Bay in Emerald Cove, about a mile south of downtown. This beach offers calm, kid-friendly waters along with fishing jetties and public bathrooms. Past visitors appreciated the beach's cleanliness and enjoyed the option to rent gear, such as chairs and umbrellas, close by.

Beach Access and Amenities
