Introduction
Key Highlight: An outcropping of rocks makes the water calmer than at other area beaches, making this a great pick for families.
Treasure Island is a stunning stretch of sand fronting the posh, five-star Montage Laguna Beach resort. However, you don’t need to be a luxury hotel guest to access it. Managed by the city in partnership with the high-end resort, this public beach ensures a pristine environment for all visitors.
Beach Features
Scenic and Accessible
Framed by beach bluffs and stretching all the way to Aliso Creek, Treasure Island Beach has a sandy bottom that makes it popular for swimming. The beach also offers scenic tidepools for exploration.
Activities
The waves can be quite large here, with rip currents at the northern end. However, skimboarding is allowed at the southern end of the beach. The protected inlet provides some of the clearest water in Laguna Beach, making it ideal for snorkeling.
Amenities
Beachgoers have access to restrooms, outdoor showers, wheelchair access, and grass lawns with paid metered parking nearby. There is also a peaceful paved walking path adjacent to the beach, which is popular with walkers, hikers, and bird watchers.
Visitor Insights
Past visitors often commend the beach for its cleanliness and beautiful environment, enhanced by an abundance of lush tropical plant life.
