Independence Hall, a red-brick, Georgian-style building, is a historically significant site where the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were debated, drafted, and signed by our forefathers. Visitors to Independence Hall can view surviving copies of these documents and visit the Assembly Room where George Washington was appointed commander in chief of the Continental Army. Hours and Admission
Independence Hall is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Plan to arrive by 4:30 p.m. since the security screening area closes about 15 minutes before 5 p.m. Admission is available via guided tours between 10 a.m. and 4:20 p.m., with tours lasting approximately 20 minutes. No tickets are required between 9 a.m. and 9:50 a.m., during which tours are self-guided. Although tickets are technically free, there is a $1 handling fee.
