Just south of Ocean Boulevard is the maritime forest of Myrtle Beach State Park, the first state park to open its gates in South Carolina. Stay for a spell by renting a campsite for the night (tent or RV compatible) or spend the day exploring the park's nature trails, surf fishing, biking, or walking the fishing pier after grabbing an ice cream cone in the gift shop.
