Experience Skiing at Ski Santa Fe in New Mexico
It may come as a surprise to some visitors, but New Mexico is home to some of the top ski spots in the Southwest. Ski season here usually spans from late fall, around Thanksgiving, into March, and Ski Santa Fe receives an average of 225 inches of snow per year. Located about 15 miles northeast of Santa Fe, it is easily accessible and can be a convenient addition to your itinerary. The ski area encompasses 660 acres of terrain with 86 runs. While there are more intermediate and expert trails, beginners can also find suitable areas to enjoy their skiing experience. The resort offers a base elevation of 10,350 feet and a vertical drop of 1,725 feet, which skiers can access through seven chairlifts.
Access and Convenience
Visitors have praised Ski Santa Fe for its proximity to downtown Santa Fe, and the free shuttle service (the RTD Mountain Trail Bus) that runs from downtown to the mountain, making it easily accessible. Skiers have highlighted the excellent quality of the snow, the impressive views, and the minimal lift lines.
