Hiking to Tokopah Falls

Trail Description

Recent visitors have enjoyed the approximately 3.5-mile hike up to the falls. The majority have noted that the trail is relatively easy and flat, making it suitable for young children and novice hikers. The surrounding scenery, with its dark gray rocks and towering trees, has been likened to settings from fantasy films.

Seasonal Water Flow

It’s important to note that the water flow varies by season. During the fall months, the waterfall's flow is often lighter. The best time to see Tokopah Falls in its full glory is during spring and early summer when the winter snowmelt significantly strengthens the water flow.

Getting to Tokopah Falls

To access the waterfall, begin your journey at the Tokopah Falls Trail, which starts at the Lodgepole Campground. Here, hikers can find restrooms and water stations—conveniences appreciated by many.
