Several stairways along Scenic Road lead directly down to the beach. Additionally, the dirt Scenic Bluff Path runs alongside Scenic Road for a half-mile between 8th Avenue and 13th Avenue, providing an ideal route for pedestrians.

Architectural Marvels

Driving the length of the road, you'll pass numerous mansions and interesting homes. Notable among them is the Clinton Walker House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright to resemble a ship. It stands out as the only oceanfront home created by the renowned architect.

The Butterfly House

Another landmark is the Butterfly House, which faces the rocky coast and is named for its angular, wing-like roof. This unique home, one of the few that sit directly on the Carmel Bay coastline, was last sold in 2023 for $29 million.
