About Faux Falls

Faux Falls offers a refreshing break from the heat of the desert and is named due to its unnatural source. The waterfall was created in 1981, when water was pumped over the ridge from Mill Creek to create Ken's Lake. Faux Falls pours out of a pipe further up the rock, though visitors noted that this did not diminish its beauty.

Family-Friendly Destination

Visitors often bring their families to Faux Falls as it presents an easy hike and a place to cool off. They recommend visiting in the spring, as the water levels vary by season due to snowmelt runoff. Previous visitors also suggest careful navigation and parking to find the correct access point.

Getting Here

To reach Faux Falls, you'll take a 0.6-mile hike located on Bureau of Land Management land near the campground at Ken's Lake Recreation Area (check out the area's website for more details). The hike is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year, and there is no fee for use.
