Introduction
Since its opening in 1911, the New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) has curated an expansive collection of nearly 50,000 works of art. This is particularly impressive given that the museum originally started with just nine pieces. NOMA holds the title of the oldest fine arts institution in Crescent City. Its extensive collection includes early Asian works and European masterpieces spanning from the 16th to the 20th centuries.
