If you're looking for a cozy retreat, Timberline Lodge provides a historic escape. Constructed through Franklin D. Roosevelt's Works Progress Administration and Civilian Conservation Corps, the stately lodge is a landmark. Interestingly, it also served as a filming location for Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining." Guests can stay overnight in one of the 70 rustic rooms or enjoy a meal at one of the lodge's seven dining options.
