Sanibel Island Farmers Market Temporarily Relocated
Like several businesses on Sanibel Island, the seasonal farmers market, which began in 2008 and typically hosts over 50 vendors, has temporarily changed locations. Normally situated at the Sanibel City Hall grounds on Sunday mornings, the market has moved to the parking lot for Jerry's Foods on Periwinkle Way. It reopened in January 2023 in this smaller venue, now featuring 15 vendors. Market owners plan to return to the traditional location once approved by the city.
Variety of Products and Vendors
Organic and Local Produce
Vendors at the market sell a range of goods, including organic and other produce sourced from nearby fields. Shoppers can find fresh fruits and vegetables in abundance.
Ready-Made Foods and Beverages
In addition to produce, the market features ready-made food available from stands and food trucks. Offerings include cheese, local seafood, beverages, and baked goods. A notable favorite among recent visitors was the fresh-made guacamole.
Artisanal Products and Crafts
The market also offers a wide range of crafts, flowers, plants, honey, and other artisanal products. Visitors have praised the diverse selection available.
Market Schedule and Visitor Information
Operated by two Sanibel islanders, the farmers market runs every Sunday from October through May, open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It provides a relaxed, outdoor setting where visitors can mingle with locals. For more information, visit the market's official website.
